Why This Circuit Works

This itinerary visits Uganda’s most diverse national parks in a logical geographical sequence. Murchison Falls introduces savannah wildlife. Kibale delivers primate encounters. Queen Elizabeth adds more big game and the famous tree-climbing lions. Bwindi provides the mountain gorilla experience. Kidepo concludes with remote wilderness that feels untouched by tourism.

The combination of driving and flying prevents excessive road fatigue. The long drives between Murchison, Kibale, Queen Elizabeth, and Bwindi are broken by diverse experiences. The flights to and from Kidepo avoid what would otherwise be two days of gruelling road travel.

Accommodation

In Murchison Falls, Paraa Safari Lodge or Pakuba Lodge. Near Kibale, Primate Lodge or Kibale Safari Lodge. In Queen Elizabeth, Mweya Safari Lodge or Enganzi Lodge. In Bwindi, sector-specific lodges. In Kidepo, Apoka Safari Lodge or Kidepo Savannah Lodge.

Permits and Fees

Gorilla permits, chimpanzee permits, park entry fees for four national parks, and Kidepo flights must all be booked well in advance. Your operator should coordinate these as part of your package.
