Mid-range lodges offer single-occupancy rooms or apply a single supplement (typically 30 to 50% additional on the room rate). Luxury lodges almost always apply a single supplement. If you are budget-conscious, community guesthouses near Buhoma or Rushaga are excellent value for solo travellers and have a social atmosphere where meeting other trekkers is easy. If privacy is your priority, mid-range lodges with single-occupancy rooms are comfortable and well-managed.
