What the Guarantee Covers
If you find a legitimately comparable gorilla trekking Uganda package from another Uganda Tourism Board registered, Uganda Wildlife Authority licensed operator — with the same permit at the official $800 price, equivalent accommodation tier, the same ground transport standard, and the same level of operator support — at a lower total price, we will match it or beat it by 5%.
The key phrase is legitimately comparable. The comparison must be like for like in every material respect. A cheaper package that uses a budget guesthouse when ours uses a mid-range lodge is not comparable. A cheaper package that excludes park entry fees or porter is not comparable to one that includes them. A cheaper package from an unlicensed operator with dubious permit arrangements is absolutely not comparable.

The variability in total package pricing between reputable operators comes from accommodation choices, vehicle quality, operator overhead, and profit margins. What the Guarantee Does Not Cover
The guarantee does not cover:

- Packages that exclude items our standard packages include (park fees, meals, porter)
- International flights — these vary by airline and booking timing beyond any operator’s control
- Flash sales or limited-time discounts from other operators that are not part of their standard pricing

But the more important point is this: the $800 gorilla permit is the dominant cost in any gorilla trekking budget, and it is the same for everyone. The $200-$500 variation between reputable operators on a total package is real but modest relative to the total expenditure. What matters more than finding the absolute cheapest package is finding an operator who books legitimate permits, employs certified guides, uses reliable vehicles, and has experience managing the logistics of a remote mountain park.
