This 4 day cycling and gorilla safari in Uganda takes you to Bwindi impenetrable national park or gorilla trekking and cycling and Lake Mburo for cycling and wildlife safaris. Bwindi is one of the most popular safari destinations in Uganda and is home to the largest number of mountain gorillas in the world. While Lake Mburo doesn’t have the some of the big cats, the park is home to the largest herds of impala and Zebra.

4 day cycling and gorilla safari itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi national park.

Upon the commencement of this 4 day cycling and gorilla safari in Uganda, you will be briefed on the safari by a representative from Getaway Uganda Tours. Driving along the Masaka highway, we will make a stop at the equator for breakfast and some pictures. Proceed to Bwindi through Mbarara, Ntungamo and Kabale. On arrival at the hotel, we will check into the lodge with the beautiful views of the forest.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking and cycling to Lake Bunyonyi.

On this day, we head out for the highly anticipated gorilla trekking. After a safety briefing at the park headquarters, we will be divided into groups of 8 to trek the various gorilla families. The trek into the forest is both rewarding and exciting. On making spotting the gorillas, we will be amazed at the sheer beauty of these gentle giants. An hour is allocated to observing them as they eat and go about their business. Videos and photos are allowed. However the flash mode has to be disabled. After the trek, we will return to the lodge for lunch.

Later in the afternoon, we will head out to Lake Bunyonyi on our cycling expedition. This will allows us to experience the forest and the local communities from a different perspective. Depending on your level of fitness, we will reach Lake Bunyonyi and relax for the night.

Day 3: Cycling in Bunyonyi and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.

After a well-rested night, we will have a morning cycling adventure on the shores of Lake Bunyonyi. The spectacular scenery around the lake offers unforgettable memories on this Uganda cycling safari. The transfer will take us to Lake Mburo national park where we will check into our lodge for the night.

Day 4: Cycling safari and return to Kampala.

On the last day of our 4 day cycling and gorilla safari in Uganda, we will have a hot breakfast before your cycling safari in the park. Although the park lacks the big cats, Lake Mburo offers a variety of wildlife. These include; leopards, buffalo, giraffes, topi, eland, zebra, impala, warthogs and much more. These can be spotted as you cycle in the park. We will then check out of the park and head for Kampala where our cycling and gorilla safari will end.

2 Day Uganda Wildlife and cycling safari detailed itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Lake Mburo national park and cycling safari

2 Day Uganda Wildlife and cycling safariProceeding an early briefing, the guide will pick you from your hotel or residence for your Uganda wildlife and cycling safari. To avoid traffic and make the most of our short Uganda safari, we will leave as early as 6:00am. At the equator, we will make our first stop. Here, we will have breakfast and take some photos at the equator monument. We shall then proceed to Lake Mburo national park where we will check into our lodge.

After checking into our lodge, we will head out for a mid-morning cycling safari. With an armed ranger, we will cycle through the tracks of Lake Mburo national park. On this cycling safari, we hope to see wildlife like topi, zebra, impala, buffalo, leopards, hippos, warthogs, eland, giraffe and plenty of bird species. This cycling safari will take us to Lake Mburo. Here, we will have lunch by the lake before proceeding to the afternoon boat cruise.

This boat cruise allows us to relax and enjoy the amazing scenery. Plenty of bird species like the African fish eagle, lapwing, king fisher, weaver birds, blue eared sterling can be seen on this cruise. Hippos and crocodiles are the highlights of this boat cruise. The boat cruise will last up to 2 hours. We will cycle back to our lodge and relax for the evening.

Day 2: Cycling and transfer to Kampala.

On day 2 of this Uganda Wildlife and cycling safari, we will have an early breakfast and venture out for another cycling safari in Lake Mburo. This gives us a chance to see the wildlife that we may have missed the previous day. This also allows us to enjoy more of our Uganda wildlife and cycling safari. After the cycling safari, we will return to the lodge, have an early, check out and head back to Kampala. We shall make a stop at the equator for some refreshment before reaching Kampala. On arrival, the guide will drop you at your hotel or residence. This will mark the end of your 2 Day Uganda Wildlife and cycling safari.
