This 3 Day Lake Bunyonyi cycling safari is a short yet fun filled adventure safari that allows you to enjoy a relaxing time on the Lake and cycling excursions in the surrounding hills. Lake Bunyonyi is located in the western part of Uganda and is the second deepest lake in Africa. The lake has 29 islands that offer a rich history of the Bakiga people. On this 3 Day Lake Bunyonyi cycling safari, you will enjoy boat cruises, island tours and cycling safaris along the shore of the neighboring Lake Mutanda.

  • Day 1: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi and evening boat cruise
  • Day 2: Cycling safari to Lake Mutanda and evening canoe ride
  • Day 3: Transfer to Kampala.

3 Day Lake Bunyonyi cycling safari detailed itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi and evening boat cruise.

After a short briefing, you will have an early start as you head for Lake Bunyonyi. Driving along Masaka road, you will have your first stop at the equator. Here, we will have breakfast and take some photos of the equator monument. Proceed to Kabale where we will have a lunch break. The scenic drive is rewarding and offers amazing views of the terraced hills. On arrival at Lake Bunyonyi, we will relax and enjoy the views before embarking on an evening boat cruise. Here, we will have amazing views of the surrounding terraced hills, sound of the birds and recover from the long journey. We will then return to the lodge for a relaxing time, a delicious dinner and a restful night.

Day 2: Cycling safari and evening island exploration.

Proceeding a restful night, we will have an early breakfast as we prepare for our cycling safari. This safari will take us through the different rugged terrain to the shores of Lake Mutanda. The views are amazing and serene. We will have a mid-morning picnic before cycling back to Lake Bunyonyi. After a delicious lunch, we will venture out to explore the different islands on the lake. The most prominent are the punishment island and the leper’s island. You will get to learn of the history of the different islands. We enjoy an amazing sunset as we canoe back to the lodge.

Day 3: Return to Kampala.

On the last day of this safari, we will have a delicious breakfast before departing for Kampala. We will have a lunch stop over at Igongo cultural center before proceeding to Kampala. On arrival, the guide will drop you at your hotel or place of residence. This will mark the end of our safari
