Day 1: Transfer to Murchison falls and rhino trekking
After a short briefing, you will embark on your 10 day Uganda safari tour You will make your first stop at Kabalega diner for an early breakfast. Proceed to Zziwa rhino sanctuary for rhino trekking. The rangers will give you a safety briefing before venturing out on foot to trek the white rhinos. With over 30 rhinos, you will be able to see enough rhinos in the wilderness to make your Uganda safari tour memorable. The sanctuary is home to more wildlife like leopards, white and black colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, bush bucks, oribi, duikers and plenty of bird species.
We will continue to Murchison falls national park, stopping in Masindi for lunch. We will head straight for Murchison falls. Here, the River Nile is forced through a 7 meter gap, falling 47 meters into the Albert Nile. The view, roar and spray made by the falls is spectacular offering an amazing rainbow whenever the sun is out. We will enjoy and explore the different viewpoints of the falls. We will proceed to our lodge where we will relax and enjoy a memorable overnight.
Day 2: Game drive and Boat cruise.
After an early breakfast, we will go for a morning game drive. This early drive allows us to catch up with the night dwellers before they retire for the day. These include lions, leopards. Hyenas and hippos. More wildlife like giraffes, elephants, buffaloes, kobs, oribi, water bucks, hartebeest and many more can be seen on the game drive. This drive lasts up to 4 hours. We will return to the lodge for an early lunch before heading out for the afternoon boat cruise.
This cruise offers a relaxing time as you cruise up the Nile. More wildlife like elephants, crocodiles, hippos and other antelopes can be seen on this cruise. At the bottom of the falls, the magnificent views of the Murchison falls offer amazing scenery. At the bottom of the falls, you will disembark and hike alongside the falls. This hike offers amazing views of Uhuru and Murchison falls. This hike takes up to 45 minutes. The guide will be waiting at the top of the falls to take you back to your lodge for the evening and night.
Day 3: Afternoon game drive.
The morning is reserved for a well-deserved rest. You will relax at the lodge, enjoying time to recuperate from the previous days’ adventures. Later in the afternoon, you will head out for an evening game drive. This will allow you to see the wildlife you may have missed on the previous game drive. This drive will last up to 4 hours. You will retire to the lodge in the evening.
Day 4: Transfer to Kibale National park.
This day of your Uganda safari tour is reserved for travel. After an early breakfast, we will check out of the lodge and head for Kibale national park. The views of the Albertine rift offer a fascinating drive. We will stop in Kagadi for lunch before proceeding with the drive to Kibale. On arrival, we will check into our lodge for the evening.
Day 5: Chimpanzee trekking and evening nature walk.
The morning will start with an early breakfast and then a briefing at the park headquarters. In the briefing, we will be taken through the rules and regulations of Chimpanzee trekking. With a ranger, we will head into the forest for chimpanzee trekking. The walk in the tropical forest is both memorable and exciting. The chirping sounds of the birds and the smell of fresh air will leave unforgettable memories of your Uganda safari tour. On making contact with the chimpanzee, you will observe them in their natural habitat feeding, playing and grooming. The ranger will answer any of the questions you might have. Other primates like grey checked mangabeys, red colobus monkeys, white and black colobus monkeys can be seen on this nature walk. After chimpanzee trekking, you will return to the lodge for lunch.
Later in the evening, we will head out to the Bigodi wetland sanctuary for a nature walk. This allows us to enjoy the scenery and rare bird species like great blue turaco and papyrus Gonolek. Other primates like red tailed monkeys and sitatunga can be seen in the sanctuary. Retire to the lodge for overnight.
Day 6: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth and evening crater drive.
Proceeding breakfast, we will check out of our lodge and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. This drive will take us through For Portal, offering fascinating and amazing scenery of crater lakes and the Rwenzori Mountains. On arrival in Queen Elizabeth, we will check into our lodge and enjoy the views of the rift valley. Later in the evening, we will go out for an evening crater drive. This allows us to enjoy the numerous crater lakes formed as a result of the volcanic activities. Enjoy the amazing sunset with the Rwenzori’s as the background. We will retire to the lodge for the night.
Day 7: Morning game drive and transfer to Bwindi national park
We shall enjoy a freshly made breakfast and venture out to the Kasenyi plains for a morning game drive. You will enjoy the savanna plains as you get closer to the wildlife. We hope to see wildlife like elephants, leopards, lions, hyenas, buffalo, hippos, kobs, warthogs, oribi and much more. This drive will last up to 4 hours and we will have an early lunch as we prepare for the scenic drive to Bwindi.
He drive will take us through the rift valley, offering amazing hillside scenery. The terraced hills and tea plantations make an unforgettable Uganda safari tour. On arrival in Bwindi, we will check into our lodge for the night.
Day 8: Gorilla trekking and cultural tour.
On this day of this 10 day Uganda safari tour, we go gorilla trekking in the thick impenetrable forest of Bwindi. After a briefing at the park headquarters, we will divided into groups of 8 to trek different gorilla families. Led by experienced rangers, we will head into the forest, following the curving route created by the rangers in search of the gorillas. On making contact, we will have an hour to observe and interact with the gorillas. Following the gorilla trekking guidelines, we will take photos, videos and ask as many questions as possible. The gorilla trekking takes from 2-6 hours. We will return to the lodge for a relaxing afternoon.
In the evening, we will go for a cultural tour of the indigenous people of the area, the Batwa. We will learn more about their culture through music and dance. We will learn about their daily lives and history. We will retire to the lodge for the night.
Day 9: Transfer to Lake Mburo National park and evening game drive.
After breakfast, we will depart Bwindi forest for Lake Mburo national park. The drive offers scenic views of terraced hills of Kabale and the fresh roadside markets. We will stop in Mbarara for an early lunch before heading for Lake Mburo. On arrival, we will check into the lodge. Later in the evening, we will head out for an evening game drive in the woodlands of Lake Mburo. The park offers a diversity of wildlife species and terrain. The park is home to giraffes, big herds of impala and zebra, leopards, eland, buffalo, water bucks and plenty of bird species. We will retire to the lode for the evening.
Day 10: Nature walk and transfer to Kampala.
On the last day of our 10 day Uganda safari tour, we will head out for a morning nature walk on the well beaten tracks made by the wildlife as they go for a drink at the lake. We will escorted by an armed ranger for safety. This nature walk allows amazing close encounters with wildlife. We will get exceptionally close to zebras, impala, water bucks and giraffes. This nature walk offers unique Uganda safari tour experience. After the nature walk, we will check out of the park and head for Kampala. We will stop at the equator for some photos and lunch. On arrival in Kampala, the guide will drop you at your hotel or airport. This will mark the end of your 10 day Uganda safari tour.
